Dirk Withake is a seasoned project and program management leader with over 25 years of international experience spanning Europe and the United States. He currently works in the high-stakes domain of air traffic and aeronautical information management, following 14 years in global IT consulting, where he has advised companies such as BP, Sony, Disney, Paramount Pictures, Red Bull, WEX and others. Dirk has successfully led, delivered, and recovered complex projects, programs, and portfolios across industries as diverse as manufacturing, finance, and entertainment.  

Dirk holds academic degrees in economics and business administration of Ruhr University Bochum/Germany and is certified across multiple disciplines by the Project Management Institute (PMI). A dedicated PMI volunteer since 2018, he was elected President of the PMI Austria Chapter in 2024. He contributed to PMI global standards as a member of the development team for the PMBOK® Guide – Sixth Edition and the review team for The Standard for Program Management – Fifth Edition. 

An experienced educator and speaker, Dirk teaches project management courses at BFI University in Vienna and frequently shares insights at national and international forums, including multiple PMI Global Summits and the Global Project Management Forum (GPMF).
