Jane Witherspoon

Jane Witherspoon is Managing Editor, Middle East, Central Asia and South Caucasus for Euronews and is based in their Dubai bureau. She manages the output and teams across the regions.  

She regularly appears in some of Euronews’ best-known titles, like The Agenda, Interview, City Scenes and Target. As part of ​this coverage, Jane has interviewed high-profile personalities, presidents and prime ministers including  Presidents Ilham Aliyev (Azerbaijan) and Bajram Begaj (Albania), Prime Ministers Irakli Kobakhidze (Georgia) and Milojko Spajić (Montenegro), entrepreneur Steven Bartlett, Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer, EU Ambassador to the UAE Andrea Matteo Fontana, chef Gordon Ramsay and legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan to name a few. 

Prior to Euronews, Jane worked as an entertainment correspondent for Sky News and news reporter ​for the BBC. She also conducted extensive work ​as a freelance reporter for ITV, Reuters, and Getty. During these years, Jane covered significant events such as the US Presidential elections, the London Olympics, and the Oscars, and interviewed numerous celebrities, like Madonna, George Clooney, and Tom Cruise, as well as former British Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and David Cameron. ​ 

Recent public speaking engagements include hosting and moderating sessions at the World Government Summit, COP28 and COP29, The Tourism Recovery Summit, the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute in Riyadh, the Global Cybersecurity Forum, the Digital Wellbeing Summit at Ithra, Dammam, The Roadmap to Healthy Longevity in the GCC, the Dubai Future Forum, the Dubai Fintech Summit, Dubai Airshow, Dubai Space Conference, the Dubai Metaverse Assembly, GITEX and Ai Everything conferences at Dubai World Trade Centre. 

Jane holds a BA (Hons) degree in Media from Liverpool John Moores University.
