Stresses the importance of progressing human skills from management to leadership.

Ike Nwankwo, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Project Management Institute, affirmed that future management trends aimed at ensuring the success of any project referring to the importance of the integration of advanced artificial intelligence technologies and data analytics with agile and flexible methodologies and sustainability. He also stressed the importance of individuals and project teams possessing the skills, competencies and personal capabilities that enable them to effectively respond to challenges and changes that may arise in the labour market.

He said, during the ‘Future Trends in Project Management’ session, “We must adopt practices that focus on value rather than deliverables alone in managing and delivering projects. This can be achieved through a deeper emphasis on project mechanics, effective governance, and the development of smart, automated operational frameworks that ensure the sustainability of success and excellence across all stages of planning, implementation and ongoing performance.”

Nwankwo added, “Enhancing cybersecurity and adopting hybrid management approaches in responding to change are also among the key priorities for successful project management in the future. This requires a strong focus on equipping the human element with modern management skills, developing employee performance, and ensuring a gradual progression from management to leadership through training in new and innovative practical skills.”
