Eng. Nada Jasim has more than 18 years of experience. She obtained her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government, and has a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical & Petroleum Engineering from the UAE University, which she obtained in 2001.

She pursued her professional development in diversified areas, including NEBOSH General Certificate of Occupational Health & Safety in 2004, and she is a Certified Lead Auditor for OHSAS 18001. She also is ISO 50001 (Energy Management), ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management), and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certified. Furthermore, she has an accreditation in sustainability management.

Eng. Nada Jasim is currently Director, Safety, Risk Regulations and Planning Department, Strategy and Institution Governance Sector, Road and Transportation Authority, which she joined in 2008 as Manager of Planning and Institution Policy for Health, Safety and Environment, and then took up the position of Deputy-Director of Safety and Risk Planning Department, which she has occupied since 2014.

The main role of the Safety and Risk Planning Department covers the various areas necessary for the developing the infrastructure of land and road transportation, railways, marine transportation, buses, public taxis and other related services, including vehicle and driver licensing, etc., which are necessary for Dubai development and all that makes life easy for the public, residents as well as visitors. In order to achieve this objective, a comprehensive organizational structure of the Road and Transportation Authority was carefully accomplished to ensure that it meets all aspects of organization, design, structuring, operations, and maintenance as well as providing the required services for transportation within a unified framework.

The current role of Eng. Nada as Director, Safety, Risk Regulations and Planning Department, Strategy and Institution Governance Sector, involves supervising the strategic and governance of the Authority as follows:

• Supervising the procedures and issuance of safety certification and organizing matters relating to railroads in Dubai
• ERM of the Road and Transportation Authority
• Professional health and safety systems and professional environmental management of the Authority
• Crisis management systems of the Authority
• Management of investigations of transportation accidents
• Constant review and monitoring of risks to ensure compliance
• Sustainability systems and green economy, including energy and emissions

Eng. Nada has more than 18 years of experience as she was Head of Safety at DUBAL and Technical Manager at Schlumberger (Kuwait-Field Engineer and Abu Dhabi) as Technical Manager of Offshore Operations.

• Technical Member in the National Committee of Health and Safety Standards under the umbrella of Standards and Quality Assurance Authority-UAE
