With over 15 years of experience at the Board level, Simon focuses on enabling companies to achieve their climate and broader sustainability ambitions, helping companies identify the financial business case for sustainable action. As a chartered accountant, Simon understands the financial implications of sustainability decisions and how to best embed sustainability thinking in to broader enterprise strategies.

Passionate about Sustainable value creation, he has worked with the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) on creating a framework for helping companies build the business case for sustainability, and is now working on a cross-sector initiative to better understand how to embed sustainability related risks and opportunities in to financial planning and valuations, recognising that this is the blocker for many corporate sustainable actions across the globe.

Simon is focussed on better connecting the science, policy, business and financial outcomes in the world of climate change and broader sustainability issues. He works across all sectors and across all regions of the world helping international and local clients ensure that they understand and maximise the potential commercial outcomes from their sustainability transformations - across strategic, reporting and technology lenses. 

As the Global Head of ESG Advisory at KPMG International, Simon leads a global team responsible for advising boards on environmental, social, and governance issues, with a combination of deep subject matter experts and strategic consultants. Simon’s philosophy centres on practical sustainability — ensuring that ESG commitments translate into measurable action. He believes that to achieve long-term success, organizations must embed sustainability into every layer of decision-making, from board oversight to employee engagement, with three key considerations for business leaders to consider. 

1. Understand Your Impact – Identify how your organization contributes to and is affected by climate change and broader sustainability topics. 

2. Integrate Sustainability into Strategy – Make sustainability part of business planning, investment, and performance metrics.
